Physical Therapy is a health-care profession that is concerned with human movement and function. It aims to help people maximize potential after/because of injury through balance retraining; electrical modalities such as electrical nerve stimulation (ENS); gait retraining with the use of crutches or walkers; general conditioning regimes; manual therapy techniques (i.e. massage) to reduce pain and stiffness; physical modalities such as ice or heat; strengthening and therapeutic exercise programs; and stretching exercises to improve muscle flexibility.
