Feng Shui

Feng Shui, pronounced fung schway is the ancient Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space in order to achieve harmony with the environment and your surroundings. The literal translation for the word is “wind and water”.

Feng shui , contrary to popular belief, is not a decorating style. Rather, it is a discipline and a discrete Chinese belief system involving a mix of geographical, religious, philosophical, mathematical, aesthetic, and astrological ideas. It is strongly influenced by the theory of the Elements. In the Chinese scheme, there are Five Elements, Wood, Fire, Metal, Earth and Water.

When something is said to have “Good feng shui”, it means that it is in harmony with Nature; likewise, to have “Bad feng shui” is to go against Nature.
